Excerpt of the Analysis made for the Reading For Writers: Crime Stories course:
For my essay, I chose to explore the psychological toll of being a criminal, rather than focusing on the crime itself. Throughout the semester, I found that the stories I connected with most were those that delved deeply into the characters' inner reflections. When developing my short story, I initially struggled to identify its central theme. While I knew I wanted to emphasize the psychological aspects, I wasn’t sure how to incorporate it effectively.
After much thought, I envisioned a hitman as my protagonist. The foundation of the story, however, became the color white. In one of my classes this semester, we analyzed the psychological effects of color, which really stuck with me. I decided to weave this concept into my character's struggles, using white to symbolize purity, guilt, and contradiction. By having my hitman wear a white suit, I opened up many possibilities for him to wrestle with his purpose, his guilt, and the discord of committing murder while wearing a color typically associated with innocence.
I would define 3 literary techniques as the foundation of my essay: Symbolism, Internal Conflict, and Juxtaposition.

Within the fall runways, brands like Altuzarra, Chloe, Miu Miu and Bottega Veneta brought forth the countryside style, composed of fair isle sweaters, corduroy wax jackets and preppy plaid flannel shirts, while also reinventing the signature Wellington boot. This trend is casual with a polished and intricate finish, consequently becoming extremely popular and easy to follow.
Although shorter and more common footwear - like sneakers and loafers - are still a big part of Fall fashion, tall, structured riding boots have become extremely popular and trendy. The Knee-High boots can easily combine with other fashion trends, from flowy dresses and skinny jeans to crew neck cardigans and midi skirts, you can easily style a knee-high boot to fully embrace the equestrian look and consequently jump in the Fall 2024 fashion trends.
